As she grew up to be a teenager, she realized that formal education only taught about the Dravyas*, which she believed to be keys to know the source but at the same time just knowing the Dravyas was not enough, she wanted to experience being the Dravyas, and her logic was that it should not be that hard as she was already composed of the same Dravyas as rest of the cosmos.
Every evening she wandered into the forest behind the village and stayed there till darkness fell trying to become one with the Dravyas of the forest.
By the time she reached nineteen years, she permanently moved into the forest. She made a vow only to return after glimpsing the source.
She spent nearly three years in the forest without much success. She realized everything was part of the cosmic dance. When she hunted a buffalo she said "A beat has gone down, but will soon rise as another. The Mahisha will become a Varaha soon". But still she lacked the subjective experience of being the forest.
One day as she was walking along a cliff she saw a red lehenga skirt over a bush on the plain below. She at once climbed down the rocks, but as she turned around the skirt was missing.
Then another day as she walked on the river bank, she saw the skirt float on the river.
Finally one night as she was asleep on the grass below the cold night sky, the skirt got carried by the wind and landed on her. She used it as a blanket that night without awareness of its presence. The next morning she surprised to find the skirt in her possession. She at once wore it. Since then the skirt was her shield, and her guide and bridge to become one with the forest. She calls it her spiritual mother.
With the guidance of the skirt, she experience the glimpse of the source.
Having achieved what she vowed, she returned home.
Then in a few days she got dressed in a blue saree and left her house in search of the house where she belonged.
